SLOPE @ European Data Forum 2015

GraphiTech is delighted to inform that the paper entitled “Integrated processing and Control Systems for Sustainable Production in Farms and Forests: the SLOPE project” has been accepted for a poster presentation at the European Data Forum 2015 that will be held on 16-17 November 2015 in Luxembourg.

The European Data Forum brings together industry, researchers, policy makers and members of community initiatives to discuss the challenges of Big Data and the emerging Data Economy and to develop suitable action plans for addressing these challenges. The special focus is on small and medium enterprises, since they are driving innovation and competition in many data-driven economic sectors.

Mid-term review meeting in Brussels

The mid-term review meeting has been held in Brussels on the 2nd of July. During the event, the consortium had the opportunity to present all its achievements going from image processing techniques to mechanical design, simulation and visualization. In this context, GraphiTech presented an early access preview of the Alpha 1.2 3D planning tool. SLOPE project @ Web3D 2015

The paper entitled “WebGL virtual globe for efficient forest production planning in mountainous area” was presented in the 20th International Conference on 3D Web Technology (Web3D 2015), held from 18-21 June 2015 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

The paper presents the first results of the SLOPE project. The authors show how results from aerial scanning can be combined with information acquired on the ground. A Web-based application is proposed, using WebGL via a customized version of CesiumJS, called GeoBrowser3D. One of the features, computer aided cableway planning, is discussed more in detail. The proposed system is able to aid the user when designing cable crane lines by checking for several important constraints.
